1946 – 2015

NORWAY — James I. Richards Sr., 68, of South Paris, passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

James was born in Lewiston on Dec. 3, 1946, a son of Herman E. and Bertha I. (Ellsworth) Richards and attended Oxford schools and Oxford High School.

Jim had worked at Pioneer Plastics for over 16 years. Prior to that, he had worked at Robinson Manufacturing and Albany International.

He enjoyed racing at Oxford Plains Speedway and followed NASCAR. He also liked fishing and hunting.

He is predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, John and Peter Richards.

He leaves behind a son, James I. Richards Jr. and his wife, Pauline, of Peru; a daughter, Dawn Richards of Norway; a brother, Wayne Richards and his wife, Sally, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Barbii Richards, Joshua Richards, Derek Richards and Tayla Richards; and four great-grandchildren.
