RUMFORD — A letter from Mexico selectmen about Med-Care Ambulance salaries and an update on Pumpkin Fest are on the agenda for selectmen Thursday.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17 in Rumford Falls Auditorium.

Mexico selectmen sent letters to Med-Care member towns to gauge their interest in pursuing information about Med-Care employee salaries. Some selectmen were concerned about increases in Med-Care’s budget and wanted to see what their employees were being paid.

Med-Care directors said they were told by their lawyer that they did not have to release the names and salaries of their employees.

Town Manager John Madigan advised selectmen it would cost “a couple thousand dollars” to hire a lawyer to pursue a Freedom of Access Act request for the list of salaries.

The board will also hear an update from EnvisionRumford President Jennifer Kreckel about the 4th Annual River Valley Pumpkin Fest on Saturday, Oct. 10.
