JAY — A caretaker of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church reported to police Tuesday that a first-floor office window was broken in the rectory connected to the church.

A brick was thrown through a window, leaving a large hole, Jay police officer Stephanie Guillemette said.

The vandalism occurred between 4 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, she said.

The new broken window was not stained glass. It is in the rear of the building near the first window that was reported broken Sept. 5.

In that incident, a rock had been thrown through one of the petals of a flower design in a large, round, stained-glass window.
