AUBURN — Olivia Chase converted a pass from Callie Samson in the second half to give St. Dom’s a 2-1 victory over Winthrop in an MVC field hockey tilt Friday.

Hannah Braun gave the Saints (5-2) a 1-0 advantage in the first frame with an assist from Samson. Katie Perkins tallied for the Ramblers (5-2) early in the second half. 

Abby Slonina made nine saves for St. Dom’s, while Corinna Coulton deflected 13 shots for Winthrop. The Saints have now won five in a row after beginning the season 0-2.

Lisbon 5, Hall-Dale 0

FARMINGDALE — Chase Collier registered a hat trick in the first half Friday to propel Lisbon to a 5-0 victory over Hall-Dale in an MVC field hockey tilt.

Savannah Czechalsic and Bree Daigle also tallied for the Greyhounds (2-5) to complete the scoring.

Mikaylia Harnden didn’t need a single save to notch the shutout, while Kaylee McGhee turned aside nine shots for the Bulldogs.  

Oak Hill 1, Boothbay 0

WALES — Captain senior forward Kylee Veilleux scored the only goal of the game as Oak Hill edged Boothbay 1-0 in MVC field hockey action Friday.

Brooke Surette carried the ball up the field to the circle where she handed it off to Veilleux for the eventual goal. The Raiders (6-1) outpaced the Seahawks (2-5) in shots with by an 18-10 margin.

Goalie Erica Eames made 15 saves for Boothbay, while goalie Abby Fuller stopped eight to earn the win in net for Oak Hill.

Dirigo 1, Mtn. Valley 0 (OT)

RUMFORD — Sophia Jacques steered the ball into the cage 40 seconds into overtime to lift Dirigo to a 1-0 victory over Mtn. Valley in MVC field hockey action Friday.

Oliva Noyes contributed an assist on the game-winning goal by the Cougars (6-1).

Goalie Alyssa Akers made four saves for the Falcons (4-3), while goalie Morgan Morrow prevented nine to earn the win in net for Dirigo.

Girls’ soccer

Hampden 2, Edward Little 2 (OT)

AUBURN — Despite a two-goal rally in the second half, Edward Little had to settle for a 2-2 deadlock against Hampden in a KVAC girls’ soccer tilt Friday.

Emily Jacques and Sarah Hammond netted goals for the Red Eddies (1-3-2), while Melissa Reiche and Emily Colter both scored for Hampden (1-3-1). 

Francesa-Beth Haines made 10 saves for Edward Little, while Hampden’s keeper deflected nine shots. 

Brunswick 3, Oxford Hills 0

BRUNSWICK — Maeve Arthur netted a pair of goals Friday to lead Brunswick to a 3-0 KVAC win over Oxford Hills. 

Charlotte MacMillan also tallied for the Dragons to complete the scoring. 

Beth Labbe needed only three saves to preserve the shutout, while Sam Bickford turned aside nine shots for the Vikings.

Mt. Blue 2, Lewiston 1 (OT)

LEWISTON — Eryn Dorion collected two goals, including an overtime tally, to lift Mt. Blue to a 2-1 victory over Lewiston in girls’ soccer action Friday.

The Blue Devils (3-3) evened the contest at 1-1 less than a minute after the Cougars (2-4) put the first score on the board. Adela Kalilwa posted the Lewiston goal.

Goalie Kelsey St.Cyr made 12 saves for Lewiston, while goalie Addie Schanz blocked nine shots to earn the win in net for Mt. Blue.

Rangeley 7, Greater Portland Christian 3

RANGELEY — Michaela Shorey scored two goals and an assist to lead Rangeley to a 7-3 victory over Greater Portland Christian in girls’ soccer action Friday.

The Lakers (2-2) got out to a fast start, taking a 4-1 lead into intermission. Rangeley dominated on offense and controlled the ball from front to back.

Senior striker Clarissa Jones scored all three of the Lions’ (3-2) goals in the contest.

Goalie Erin Robertson made six saves for Greater Portland Christian, while goalie Sydney Royce halted six to earn the win in net for Rangeley.
