WALES — Hayden Spencer converted a pass from Mercedes Pease with 8:54 left in regulation to give Oak Hill a 2-1 victory over St. Dom’s in KVAC field hockey action Monday.
Lexi Kesarais gave Brian Kay’s young but promising Saints (5-3) a 1-0 advantage in the first frame. Pease answered for the powerhouse Raiders (7-1) early in the second with an assist from Zoe Buteau.
Abby Fuller made a dozen saves for Oak Hill, while Abby Slonina deflected 14 shots between the posts for St. Dom’s.
Mountain Valley 4, Telstar 2
BETHEL — Lexy Duguay netted a pair of goals in the first half Monday as Mountain Valley hustled to a 4-2 MVC victory over Telstar.
Brianna Burgess and Chelsea Allison also tallied for the Falcons (5-3) to complete the scoring. Veteran Becca Howard scored both goals for the Rebels (2-6).
Alyssa Akers made five saves for Mountain Valley, while Blair Stevens turned aside seven shots for Telstar.
Girls’ soccer
Lisbon 3, Winthrop 2
LISBON — Deliah Schrieber completed her hat trick when she converted a pass from Kailyn Le with 3:39 left in regulation to give Lisbon a 3-2 victory over Winthrop in MVC girls’ soccer action Monday.
The two squads were deadlocked at 1-1 after the first frame, as Sierra Huff tallied the first of her two goals for the winless Ramblers (0-6).
Alexander Sult needed only two saves to preserve the shutout, while Shie Smith turned qaside 17 shots for Winthrop.
St. Dom’s 4, Boothbay 0
AUBURN — Avery Lutrzykowski scored a pair of goals and picked up an assist as the St. Dom’s (5-0-1) took down Boothbay 4-0 in a girls’ soccer game Monday.
The Saints took a 2-0 lead in the first half. Bugsy Hammerton and Addie Suckow each scored for St. Dom’s. Izzy Frennette picked up an assist. St. Dom’s goalie Victoria Sasse made three saves and the Saints held the advantage in shots, 17-3.
