LEWISTON — Katherine Kelly Lang, an Emmy-nominated actress on the TV soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful” will participate in the Dempsey Challenge in October.

Lang is widely known for her role as Brooke Logan Forrester on the CBS daytime drama for the past 28 years. She is a two-time Emmy nominee for acting and an Emmy winner for producing.

Lang lost her father, grandfather and two grandmothers to cancer.

As a way to give back to the cancer community, some of the funds from the sale of her line of women’s kaftans go to Amgen’s Breakaway from Cancer’s four nonprofit partner organizations. 

Lang is mother to four children and an accomplished athlete. In 2013, she won her age group category in the Los Angeles Hansen Dam Triathlon. That year, she came in third in the celebrity division of the Malibu Triathlon and won her age group in the Los Angeles Triathlon.

Lang will participate in the Dempsey Challenge 50-mile ride Sunday, Oct. 18, as well as several other events throughout the weekend, including the survivor walk on Saturday, Oct. 17.
