FARMINGTON — Entrepreneurs Connect, aimed at increasing the entrepreneurial spirit in Franklin County, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the University of Maine at Farmington’s North Dining Hall C.
It is sponsored by the Greater Franklin Development Council, Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and CEI for local entrepreneurs to get inspired, think big, be bold and challenge themselves to grow their business and take it to the next level, according to organizers.
It will focus on the experiences of several area entrepreneurs, opportunities for growth and how to navigate the hiring process.
Tom Hildreth of Carrabassett Coffee in Kingfield is the keynote speaker. A 1970 Harvard University graduate and Massachusetts native, Hildreth has lived in the area for more than 25 years, teaming up with two friends to create the coffee business 20 year ago.

Several state organizations are committed to providing resources and capital to entrepreneurs who are looking at opportunities for growth. The Department of Economic and Community Development will be part of this panel along with Maine Angels, the Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development, the Maine Technology Institute and a representative of the Governor’s Office.
Rebecca Webber, attorney at Skelton Taintor & Abbott in Auburn, will guide attendees through the hiring process.
