Erin Place has won three awards from the Maine Press Association in its recent Better Newspaper Contest.

Place has won First Place in the Freedom of Information category for her story initial story “Paperwork not filed in Paris police chief OUI,” and series on the matter.

She won Second Place in the Continuing Story category for her series on Paris Police Chief Michael Madden and Second Place in the Business Story category for her “Bang up business” story about Oxford’s policies growing its economy.

“We are all very proud of Erin,” said A.M. Sheehan, editor. “She is hardworking, very talented with a lovely personality and an asset to our team. I expect she will garner many more awards throughout her career.”

Place regularly covers the towns of Paris, Buckfield, Hartford and Harrison.
