Lori McKenna, Kara Dio Guardi
perform in first New England
show by famous music cafe

For the first time in New England, Nashville’s iconic music venue The Bluebird Café, will present one of its famous “songwriters-in-the-row” shows on at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, Bath’s Chocolate Church.

The Bluebird’s signature format places four songwriters together, trading songs and telling stories of how the songs were written and the inspirations behind the hits. Popular New England singer/songwriter, Lori McKenna will perform with a stellar group of writers to benefit Healthy Kids of Maine. McKenna, along with former American Idol judge and hit songwriter, Kara DioGuardi, (now a resident of Maine) JT Harding and Jeff Cohen will entertain listeners with their songs – a list that includes hits for Pink, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, The Band Perry, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Five for Fighting and Rascal Flats.

The 33-year-old Bluebird Cafe is home to Nashville’s renowned singers, songwriters and musicians. The original Bluebird Cafe is credited with starting the careers of virtually every major artist in the country music business today ,including Keith Urban, Kathy Mattea, Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift.

“The Bluebird has presented shows from NY to California and over in the United Kingdom, but never in New England,” said Bluebird COO Erika Wollam Nichols.

Healthy Kids is located in Lincoln County and has been working to prevent child abuse since 1985. The agency provides parenting programs through home visiting, educational classes and groups, their online resource center and supervised visitation.

Teens learn about how to deal with crying babies and keep them safe through the collaborations between Healthy Kids and local high schools. Additionally, the organization provides support to professionals and parents preventing or responding to child maltreatment.

Leslie Livingston, Executive Director of Healthy Kids says, “Music is a wonderful tool that can help build relationships between people including parents and children like no other. A parent singing a lullaby to a baby can be just the care and love needed to sooth its tiny being. Music meets us where we are in any given moment and is very powerful. And country music is full of soul and feelings.”

Tickets for the show are on sale now at http://healthykidsmaine.com/Healthy_Kids/

VIP Tickets that include a meet-and-greet with the performers are $100. General admission is $35. Doors for the show will open at 7:30PM.
