FARMINGTON — The Farmington Pumpkin Fest on Saturday, Oct. 10, will feature an Obstacle Race beginning at 9:30 a.m.
According to organizers, the course is mostly flat and is about two miles long. From the Narrow Gauge Cinemas, it will loop once around the Farmington Village Corporation Field, where there will be multiple obstacles, and back to the cinemas.
Registration is $20 in advance or $30 the day of the event. Preregistration may be done in person at the Narrow Gauge Cinemas or by sending a check for $20 to PO Box 486, Farmington, ME 04938. On Oct. 10, registration is from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. at the Narrow Gauge Cinemas lobby.
The first 50 people to register will receive a T-shirt. The event is limited to 200 participants and registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The $5 Pumpkin Festival Pass is available the day of the event at the information booths at Divine Inspirations and the Better Living Center. The pass gives the bearer access to the Front Street Scavenger Hunt, drawings valued at over $300, a free movie at Narrow Gauge Cinemas, free face-painting, cookie decorating and puppet show.
The movie pass is good for showings of “Pan” or “Hotel Transylvania 2” on Saturday, Oct. 10, or Sunday, Oct. 11. Seating is first-come, first-served.

9:30 a.m. – Obstacle Race
10 a.m. a.m. to 4 p.m. – Information booths open in front of the Better Living Center and at Divine Inspirations
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Scavenger Hunt, pick up worksheet at Information Booth
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Photo Opportunity at various points along Front Street
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Scarecrow-decorating, games and face-painting at Divine Inspirations
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Caramel Apple Decorating in the tent next to Norton Optometry
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Kids Crafts in the tent next to Norton Optometry
10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Giant Hay Maze at Union Rental
Noon, 1, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. – “Pan” at Narrow Gauge Cinemas
12:30, 1:30, 3 and 4 p.m. – “Hotel Transylvania” at Narrow Gauge Cinemas
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Horse & Wagon Rides along Front Street; pickup and drop-off by Union Rental and Divine Inspirations
Noon – Pie-eating contest at Depot Laundry
Noon and 2 p.m. – Flying High Frisbee Dogs Show located on the lawn adjacent to the Franklin Savings Bank and Western Mountain Financial Services building
1 and 3 p.m. – Frogtown Mountain Puppet Show “The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow” Narrow Gauge Cinemas
