WEST PARIS — A Norway man is charged with attacking a store owner who asked him to leave the premises last week, Oxford County Sheriff Wayne Gallant said.

Jeffrey W. Wootton, 26, was arrested Sept. 29 on charges of aggravated assault and domestic violence terrorizing, the sheriff said.

John “Jack” Floster, 57, said Wootton is known to him as a customer. When Wootton was asked to leave the store he became agitated and attacked him before fleeing on foot, the owner said.

The sheriff said Deputy Nathan Bowie arrested Wootton after he was found by Deputy Matt Mcdonnell.

Wootton remains in jail on a probation hold, Gallant said.
