AUGUSTA (AP) — Maine Governor Paul LePage has made nominations for five judicial appointments.
LePage announced the nomination of two magistrates and two prosecutors as District Court judges and the nomination of a current superior court justice as an active retired justice.
The District Court nominations are two family law magistrates, Maria Woodman and Paul Mathews, along with Jed French, a private lawyer from Yarmouth, and Michael P. Roberts, deputy district attorney in Penobscot County.
Superior Court Justice Paul Fritzsche has been nominated as an active retired justice in the same court.
All judicial nominations must be vetted by the judiciary committee and confirmed by the full Senate.
