Lisbon 1, Madison 0
LISBON — Lisbon picked up some serious Heal points when the Greyhounds beat Madison 1-0 in a girls’ soccer game Thursday.
The Bulldogs (10-12) outshot the Greyhounds, 15-3. But Kailyn Le’s unassisted, game-winning goal early in the first half held up thanks to Lisbon’s (7-5) unyielding defense for the rest of the game.
Lisbon goalie Alexandra Sult made 10 saves to preserve her shutout.
St. Dom’s 3, Winthrop 0
WINTHROP — Avery Lutryzkowski led a three-goal assault in the first half as St. Dom’s rolled to a 3-0 victory over Winthrop in a late-season KVAC girls’ soccer tilt Thursday.
Bugsy Hammerton and Kristina Cornelio also tallied for the Saints (10-1-1) to complete the scoring.
Victoria Safse made four saves to preserve the shutout, while Shie Smith and Amber Raymond combined to deflect 12 shots for the struggling Ramblers (1-11).
Mt. Blue 4, Skowhegan 1
SKOWHEGAN — Eryn Doiron set a new school record Thursday as Mt. Blue rolled to a 4-1 late-season win over Skowhegan in a KVAC girls’ soccer tilt. The Cougar senior tied the record Tuesday and scored her 45th and 46th career goals Thursday.
With her first of two tallies, Doiron broke the previous school record of 44 career goals set by Ashley Spear of the Class of 1991.
Haley Caswell and Ace Provencher also tallied for the Cougars (5-6-1), while Chloe Thorndike scored for the winless Indians (0-12).
Addie Schanz made five saves for Mt. Blue, while Tatumn Parker turned aside nine shots between the posts for Skowhegan.
Poland 4, Wells 3
WELLS — Courtney Cunliffe netted a pair of goals Thursday as Poland edged Wells 4-3 in a late-season WMC girls’ soccer tilt.
Katriana Pratt and Leya Harvey also tallied for the Knights (2-9) to complete the scoring. Elise McCormick and Madison Szcygiel scored for Wells (1-9-1), while their third tally was a gift (own goal) from Poland.
Erin Brewer made four saves for Poland, while Layren Bartlett deflected three shots for Wells.
Boys’ soccer
Wells 4, Poland 2
POLAND — Liam Bell netted a goal in each half Thursday to propel Wells to a 4-2 win over Poland in a late-season boys’ soccer matchup.
Alec Pinette and Nick Wuerthner also tallied for Wells (5-5-1) to complete the scoring. Patrick Kuklinski led the Knights (3-7-1) with both goals in the contest.
Nick Chandler needed only one save to notch the win, while Trevor Saunders turned aside seven shots between the posts for Poland.
Buckfield 8, Temple 1
WATERVILLE — Sidney Jackson registered a hat trick Thursday as Buckfield overpowered Temple Academy 6-0 in a late-season EWC boys’ soccer matchup.
John Randolph continued his stellar 2015 season for the Bucks (11-1) with a pair of goals, while single tallies from Ethan Jackson, Bryan Chabe and Matt Beaucage completed the scoring.
Micah Riportella scored the lone goal for Temple. Jake Kraske made two saves for Buckfield, while Timothy Larsen deflected 20 shots between the posts for Temple (2-8).
Field hockey
Mt. Ararat 1, Lewiston 1 (2OT)
LEWISTON — After a scoreless first half, each team managed a single goal before the offense fell silent through regulation and double overtime as Mt. Ararat battled to a 1-1 deadlock against Lewiston.
Eva Jerome tallied for the Eagles at the 16:13 mark, before Mya Letourneau answered for the Blue Devils (2-10-1) at 8:59 with an assist from Maggie Phelan.
Karlie Brillant made six saves for Mt. Ararat, while Kaylyn Labonte turned aside 32 shots for Lewiston.
Mountain Valley 1, Winthrop 0 (OT)
RUMFORD — Lexy Duguay converted a pass from Marissa Crosby with 2:43 left in overtime to give Mountain Valley a 1-0 late-season victory over Winthrop.
Corinna Coulton needed only three saves for the Falcons (9-5) to notch the shutout, while Alyssa Akers turned aside eight shots for the Ramblers.
Skowhegan 2, Mt. Blue 1 (1OT)
SKOWHEGAN — Brooke Michonske netted a goal early in overtime to lift Skowhegan to a 2-1 victory over Mt. Blue in a KVAC field hockey tilt Thursday.
Julia Steeves gave the Indians (12-1-0) a 1-0 advantage in the first half before Hannah LeClair answered for the Cougars (8-4-1).
Leah Kruse made nine saves for Skowhegan, while Erika McArthur deflected 10 shots for Mt. Blue.
