FARMINGTON — Caitlin Kane converted a pass from Eryn Doiron with 1:32 left in the second overtime to give Mt. Blue a 2-1 win over Messalonskee on Thursday.
Evin Sison gave Messalonskee (9-4-1) a 1-0 advantage in the first frame with an assist from McKenna Brodeur. Doiron tied the contest with an unassisted goal early in the second half.
Abbie Schanz made eight saves for Mt. Blue (7-6-1), while Sarah Van Der Karr turned aside eight shots for Messalonskee.
Brunswick 2, Edward Little 0
AUBURN — Lena Martin and Maeve Arthur each scored a goal for Brunswick on Thursday as the Falcons rolled to a 2-0 KVAC win over Edward Little.
Arthur and Kira Wolpow provided assists for the Dragons.
Beth Labbe needed only four saves to notch the shutout, while Francesca-Beth Haines turned aside five shots for the Red Eddies.
Poland 2, Freeport 2
POLAND — After trailing by one at the break, Poland tied the contest in the second stanza, but failed to capitalize in overtime to secure a 2-2 tie with Freeport on Thursday.
Sadie Pelletier led the Knights (2-10-1) with a goal and one assist, while Brooke Yorkey also tallied. Jemayla Nelsonwood and Taylor Rinaldi scored goals for Freeport.
Erin Brewer made six saves for Poland, while Lindsay Cartmell turned aside seven shots for Freeport (3-7-2).
Erskine 1, Spruce Mountain 0
JAY — Alana York found the net with just 4:03 remaining to give Erskine a 1-0 late-season victory over Spruce Mountain in MVC girls’ action Thursday.
The Phoenix missed a good opportunity to score when Hanna St. Pierre had a breakaway and slid the ball past a hard-charging Cassandra Ray, missing the goal by inches.
Ray finished with four saves to notch the shutout, while Amber Delaney deflected 14 shots for Spruce Mountain.
Dirigo 3, Winthrop 1
DIXFIELD — Brittany Grieg netted a pair of goals on Thursday as Dirigo hustled to a 3-1 win over Winthrop in girls’ soccer action.
Ellie Jasper also tallied for the Cougars to complete the scoring. Madison Moore scored for the Ramblers at the 37:12 mark in the second frame.
Mt. Abram 2, Carrabec 1
SALEM —Lindsay Huff grabbed a through ball from Serena Sitz and fired it into the net with 7:47 remaining in the first half to give Mt. Abram a 2-1 girl’s soccer win over Carrabec Thursday.
Summer Ross gave the Roadrunners (4-6-2) a 1-0 advantage with 16:18 left in the first frame. Katrina Mason tallied for the Cobras (5-7-1) on a cross from Lexi Cowan.
Abby Bracklet made four saves for Mt. Abram, while Kelsey Cramer and Steph Cossaboom combined to deflect three shots for Carrabec.

CAPE ELIZABETH — Mariah Deschino had a goal and an assist to lead the Cape Elizabeth Capers to to the 5-0 win over the Gray-New Gloucester Patriots in girls’ soccer action.
Kate Breed, Montana Braxton, Tori Diaz and Sarah O’Connor also scored for the Capers (8-4) while Tessa Goldstein only needed to make three saves for the clean sheet.
Jen Sutherland made 17 saves for the Patriots (5-6-1).

Carrabec 3, Mt. Abram 0
SALEM — Tyler Reichart led a trio of players to record goals Thursday as Carrabec hustled to a 3-0 late-season victory over Mt. Abram in MVC boys’ soccer action Thursday.
Dylan Willette made it 2-0 for the Cobras (7-4-1) in the first half, while Jacob Atwood tallied the third goal in the second frame.
Trent Richardson made five saves to preserve the shutout, while Seth Thomas and Glendon Howard combined to deflect 12 saves for the Roadrunners (3-8-1).

Dirigo 2, Oak Hill 1 (2OT)
DIXFIELD — Olivia Noyes converted a pass from Sabrina Daoud in the second overtime to give Dirigo a narrow 2-1 win over Oak Hill in a MVC field hockey tilt Thursday.
Lexi Fuller gave the Raiders a 1-0 advantage at the 4:52 mark in the first frame. Daoud answered for the Cougars at 7:55 in the second frame.
Morgan Morrow made 12 saves for Dirigo, while Abby Fuller deflected 11 shots between the posts for Oak Hill.
Women’s soccer
UMF 3, Thomas 0
FARMINGTON — Kaiti Kinney and Haley Murano tallied their first-career goals as the University of Maine at Farmington topped Thomas College with a 3-0 shutout victory on Thursday in a North Atlantic Conference matchup.
Kinney only needed a little over a minute into the game to get the Beavers on the scoreboard. After the Beavers (4-7-1) pushed the tempo, Lydia Roy headed a pass in front of the net to Kinney, who knocked in the go-ahead score.
The lone goal stayed intact until Bridget Humphrey doubled UMF’s lead in the 70th minute. Humphrey lined a shot from, just outside of the box, which deflected off the post and into the back of the net.
Humphrey set up Farmington’s final goal by taking a free kick on the right side of the box. Humphrey launched the cross to the far side of the goal where Murano was standing for the easy header.
The Beavers were on the attack for nearly the entire game by outshooting the Terriers, 40-6. Kiana Thompson notched her first victory in her first career start for UMF with a pair of saves.
