AUBURN — Two drivers involved in a head-on collision on Minot Avenue were injured and taken to Central Maine Medical Center. 

The crash occurred at the intersection of Minot Avenue and Hotel Road just after 5 p.m. Auburn firefighters and police responded to the scene.

According to Auburn police, both drivers attempted to make a turn in the intersection at the same time and collided.

Each vehicle had one male driver and no passengers, according to an Auburn police officer on the scene. Both drivers were injured and taken to Central Maine Medical Center. 

Both cars, a blue Hyundai Accent and a white Chevrolet pickup truck, were towed. The Hyundai was completely smashed in the front, and the driver’s side door was cut off by emergency responders using the Jaws of Life.

The names of the drivers and the extents of their injuries were not released Monday night.
