PORTLAND — Friends of Casco Bay’s Eighth Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Abromson Auditorium on the University of Southern Maine’s Portland campus.
Join explorers, naturalists and thrill seekers as they explore the Highlands of Fiji, Yosemite Natural Park, ancient cliff dwellings in southeast Utah, Hudson Bay where thousands of beluga whales gather and our own Gulf of Maine.
This event, to benefit Friends of Casco Bay, features 17 environmental and adventure films, from humorous shorts to award-winning documentaries. Free popcorn and other snacks, a cash bar and a raffle will round out the evening.
Tickets may be purchased online in advance for $27 at www.cascobay.org or at the door for $32, if available.
Doors open at 4 p.m.; films start at 4:50 p.m. Last year, tickets sold out nearly a week before the event. It is recommended those attending buy tickets early.
Lead sponsors are 98.9 WCLZ, Ocean Navigator, TD Bank, Yelp Maine and Oakhurst Dairy.
Since 1989, Friends of Casco Bay has been working to improve and protect the environmental health of Casco Bay through advocacy, research, education and collaborative partnerships.
