LEWISTON — A 41-year-old local man was struck by a car in a hit-and-run incident early Tuesday.
Michael Mannion of Oak Street was taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
The driver of the Volkswagen that struck him, Kelsey Cushman, 20, whose vehicle registration indicates she lives in Leeds, left the scene at Sabattus and Oak streets without stopping to attend to Mannion, police said.
On Tuesday, police said Cushman didn’t realize she hit anyone because of frost on her windshield, according to WGME.
Cushman was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury, a Class D misdemeanor punishable by up to 364 days in jail.
The incident remains under investigation.
