LEWISTON — The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce will host the next L A Law workshop from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the chamber, 415 Lisbon St.

The topic is The Legal Environment of Business in Maine: Resources for Small Businesses and Start Ups.

Attorney Sonia Buck, a partner at the Auburn law firm Linnell, Choate & Webber, LLP, will cover legal considerations that may help navigate the exciting process of becoming a Maine business owner — and help attendees avoid some of the pitfalls that threaten the unaware. Learn about business plan models, business entity formation, licenses and permits, employment and consumer laws and other business law topics. Those attending will leave with some forms and resources that can be referred to in the future.
