An Auburn photographer traveling the world to meet and document her Facebook friends has moved on to London after a tense weekend in Paris.

Tanja Hollander said she left Paris via a train to London on Monday afternoon. She’s been documenting her trip on her Facebook page, her Tumblr blog and her Instagram account.

Hollander travels around the globe taking pictures of her friends and acquaintances she’s gotten to know through Facebook, calling the project “Are You Really My Friend.”

According to her posts, she and a friend had stopped at a Paris restaurant when they began receiving text messages from friends urging them to be safe. They left the restaurant and went to find a friend and student, another American, and ended up hiding in a bar overnight.

They spent the weekend taking photographs of Paris before she moved on, according to her posts.

Several other Maine residents were abroad in Paris at the time of the attacks, including Aimee Arsenault Labbe and her husband, Chris Labbe, who were on their honeymoon.

Emma Twitchell of Kingfield was also in Paris on Friday night.
