LEWISTON — An autistic teen reported missing earlier this week has been located.
James Ross Allen, 18, sent a text to his family Wednesday morning from Los Angeles, according to Sgt. James Theiss of the Lewiston Police Department.
Theiss said Allen was safe and in good condition.
Allen lived with his father in Lewiston, according to his mother, Laura Dumais of Waterville. Allen boarded a Greyhound bus in Lewiston bound for North Hollywood, Calif.
Dumais had said her son, who is autistic, was likely headed for Hollywood to find fame and fortune.
Theiss said Allen was with police in Burbank, Calif., and was expected to board an airplane Wednesday morning for a flight home. He was expected to arrive in New England by Wednesday evening.
Police will keep listing Allen as missing until he is reunited with his family.
