LEWISTON — The driver of a pickup truck in a fatal crash with a motorcycle on Sunday failed to yield the right of way, police said.

An accident report released Friday showed that Ronald J. Morin, 45, of Greene was driving along Fair Street and his truck collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of College Street shortly after 5 p.m.

Christopher Moreno, 27, of Auburn was killed when the front of his Suzuki motorcycle struck the right front corner of Morin’s Ford F-150 pickup truck.

According to an accident report, Morin was operating under the influence of alcohol. He was later charged with that crime.

Moreno was exceeding the posted speed limit at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Morin is free after posting $300 cash bail at Androscoggin County Jail.

He is scheduled to appear Dec. 16 at 8th District Court unless he is indicted on the felony OUI charge before then, a clerk said. If that were to happen, he would be given a new date for his arraignment.
