Widows Fellowship to meet

LISBON — The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at United Methodist Church, School Street.

Fellowship will be followed by a potluck supper.

All interested widows in the area are invited to attend.

The group meets the first Monday of each month. If there is a holiday, the group meets on the second Monday.

Lewiston Seniors Cribbage League winners

LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Nov. 19 were, first place, Henry Maheux and Joan Pettingill; second place, Richard Champagne; third place, Bob Cielenski and Don Haley; fourth place, Pat Record and Betty Ames; and fifth place, Celia Treworgy and Larry Lefevre.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome

LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly during the summer at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.

The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. You must become a member to play.

Fall Quilting Class begins

MONMOUTH — The Fall Quilting Class will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, at the Packard Activity Center under the United Church, 778 Main St.

The class is open to all who would like to quilt to learn, share ideas and show work.

All are welcome to work on the pattern, a disappearing nine-patch with variations and Migrating Geese.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on Nov. 16 were, first, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry; second, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; third, first in B & C, Ellie and George Wigton; fourth, Jan and Vern Arey; second in B, Marta Clements and Dick Allen; second in C, Cynthia and Bill Clifford.

Winners on Nov. 17 were Les Buzzell and Fred Letourneau; second, first in B, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; third, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; fourth, Paul Sherman and Mike True; fifth, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry; second in B, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed.
