ROXBURY — The Board of Selectmen on Tuesday voted 3-0 to accept a $1,860 bid for portable toilets at the town beach and boat landing on Ellis Pond.

Brackett Pumping and Portable Toilet Service in Rangeley was the sole bidder.

Board of Selectmen Chairman Tim Sutton said officials plan to have the toilets there from May 11 to Oct. 26.

Selectman Tim DeRouche said the installation is contingent on voters approving the funds at the annual town meeting next March.

In other business, Treasurer Renee Hodsdon said the light in the sand/salt shed had been “shot out or damaged in some way.”

“That’s the way it was described to me,” she said. “You guys will likely have to reach out to an electrician to get it fixed.”

DeRouche said it’s possible that “ice fell on the light, which could have caused it to break.”
