The Carrabassett Valley Public Library, 3209 Carrabassett Drive, will host Maine author Kate Braestrup for a book talk and signing at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29. In her highly anticipated “Anchor and Flares: A Memoir of Motherhood, Hope and Service,” Braestrup delves into the struggles and joys of parenthood, specifically the challenges and rewards of loving and parenting someone in service. Braestrup serves as chaplain to the Maine Warden Service. She is the author of the novel “Onion,” and several best-selling memoirs. She has written for O, the Oprah Magazine, the New York Times, More magazine and the Huffington Post. She lives in Maine with her husband and their six children.
