DIXFIELD — The Regional School Unit 10 board approved several student trips, made appointments and accepted resignations Monday.

Coach Alan Cayer received approval to escort the 17 members of the Mountain Valley High School wrestling team to a tournament Jan. 15 and 16 in Essex Junction, Vt. Parents will transport the students and lodging will be provided by the Mountain Valley Youth Association.

Coach Ann Speth received permission to take the Dirigo High School Nordic ski team on two day-trips during Christmas vacation. Students will be transported by a district bus. The trips are contingent upon an adequate amount of snow.

Also approved was a two-night, three-day trip to Quebec in May for French students at Dirigo and Mountain Valley high schools. Teachers Mary Kaubris and Marie Russell said students would be responsible for all costs. At least 25, but not more than 55 students may take part in the language-focused trip.

The district also accepted the resignations of Dirigo High School special education teacher Deborah Mooney effective Nov. 30, and bus driver/custodian Tammy Cerrato effective Dec. 8.

The board also appointed Christopher Whitney as the Dirigo Middle School junior varsity boys basketball coach, and Devin Roberts as Mountain Valley High School assistant wrestling coach.

The board also met in a closed session to discuss personnel medical leave.
