AUBURN — Tyler Morrow, one of Boston’s fastest rising young comedians, highlights a fantastic lineup for Comedy Fix XXVII. The stand-up comedy fundraiser will take place at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 8 at Sapphire Nightclub and Event Center (formerly Club Texas), 150 Center St., Auburn.
Comedy Fix founder and host Mark Turcotte will also welcome Dan Gilbert, Mark Reilly, Mike Levinsky and Katie Ferreira. All net proceeds from the show will benefit Greater Androscoggin Humane Society which is committed to using its resources to provide the best possible care for stray, abandoned and abused animals.
Morrow has been performing throughout New England, along with New York City’s Greenwich Village Comedy Club, for the past couple of years. He’s made the rounds at The Comedy Studio Laugh Boston and Dick Doherty’s Comedy Den and runs the weekly Laugh Free or Die show in Manchester, N.H.
Gilbert was featured at Super Megafest Comic Con, Northeast Con and has opened for nationally touring comedians Dan Soder, Myq Kaplan and Ben Kronberg. Levinsky founded Maine’s longest running weekly show, The Portland Comedy Showcase, in 2012 and has left ’em laughing at Comix at Foxwoods and The Comedy Studio.
Reilly, who moonlights as a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier, was a finalist in Portland’s Got Talent and a semi-finalist in Portland’s Funniest Professional contest. Ferreira, who will be making her Comedy Fix debut, has quickly become a familiar face in the Portland scene and regularly performs at Blue, Bull Feeney’s and the Laugh Shack.
The show is for ages 21 and up, and contains adult language and content. Doors open at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $10 and may be purchased at maineeventcomedy.com. FMI, call 207-513-0742 or e-mail [email protected].
