LEBANON — A Vermont man is behind bars after police say he drove to his cousin’s home in Lebanon and stabbed three relatives Christmas night.
Alton Britch, 44, of Wheelock, VT. is in the York County Jail on $100,000 bail after being charged with three counts of elevated aggravated assault. Before 10 p.m. on Christmas, police responded to 188 West Lebanon Road in Lebanon and found two people restraining Britch after the stabbings.
The triple stabbing incident happened at the home of Britch’s cousin, Beverly Duquette. Her husband Randall Duquette, her daughter Anna Malinowski and her grandson Dominic Small suffered stab wounds police described as non-life threatening. All three were taken to Frisbee Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH for treatment.
The knife was recovered at the home. Police are unclear as to Britch’s motive, but they did say he grew up in Lebanon. Family members told police they had not seen Britch in two years.
