TURNER — Sophomore forward Sohpia Gilbert recorded a team-high nine points to lead Leavitt to a 32-29 victory over Mt. Blue in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Cougars (3-5) led 17-16 at the half. Senior Caitlin Kane scored a game-high 10 points for Mt. Blue.
The Hornets (4-6) limited Mt. Blue to four points in the final quarter, constructing the win by outscoring the Cougars by five points.
Senior forward Chantel Eells provided eight points, while sophomore forward Rebecca Fogg contributed six points in the winning effort.
Rangeley 55, Vinalhaven 35
VINALHAVEN — Sophomore forward Sydney Royce drained 18 points to go along with five steals and three assists as Rangeley coasted to a 55-35 victory over Vinalhaven in girls’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The Lakers (9-1) turned up the tempo in the third quarter with a 22-9 run. Blayke Morin posted 15 points with nine rebounds, five steals and four assists for Rangeley.
Senior guard Skyler Sanborn paced the Vikings (7-1) with a team-leading 10 points in the first loss for Vinalhaven.
Lewiston 46, Scarborough 45
SCARBOROUGH — Senior guard Kristina Blais conjured up a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists to aid Lewiston in an overtime 46-45 squeaker over Scarborough in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.
Sophie Glidden forced overtime with a late fourth quarter field goal for the Red Storm (4-5).
Alaisia Branche connected for the winning field goal in overtime for the Blue Devils (5-5). Victoria Harris contributed six field goals for 12 points for Lewiston.
Mt. Abram 38, Hall-Dale 34
SALEM — Summer Ross hit four free throws and Sally Stevens made another two in the waning minutes of a girls’ basketball game, giving Mt. Abram a 38-34 victory over stubborn Hall-Dale on Friday.
The Roadrunners (3-7) held a slim 19-15 going into the second half where the Bulldogs (4-7) made a run at Mt. Abram.
The Roadrunners Marya Beedy scored the game-high 12 points. Danni Sweet lead the Bulldogs with 11 points.
St. Dom’s 37, Telstar 28
BETHEL — Chloe Dwinell threw in 22 points as St. Dom’s dismissed a stubborn Telstar team with a 37-28 victory in a girls’ basketball game Friday.
The Saints (6-4) built an 18-16 before pulling away in the second half.
For the winless Rebels (0-10), Becca Howard scored 11 points.
Edward Little 66, Massabesic 33
AUBURN — Jordyn Reynolds paced the Edward Little Red Eddies with 19 points, as the Red Eddies doubled up the Messabesic Mustangs 66-33 in a girls’ basketball game Friday.
Emily Jacques knocked down two 3-pointers and finished the game with 17 points for the Red Eddies (8-1).
McKenzy Ouellette dropped in 25 points for the Mustangs (2-7).
Oxford Hills 49, Sanford 30
PARIS — Tianna Sugars paced the Oxford Hills Vikings with 15 points in a 49-30 victory over the Sanford Spartans in a girls’ basketball contest.
The Vikings had three players — Maighread Laliberte, Erin Eastman and Erin Morton — who finished the game with six points in

Winslow 54, Spruce Mountain 46
JAY — Heather Kervin, Paige Trask and Ciara LeClair each had three points in double overtime as the Winslow Black Raiders pulled away for the 54-46 victory over the Spruce Mountain Phoenix.
The Phoenix only scored three points in the second overtime session.
Kervin finished the game with 20 points while Trask had 10 points, while LeClair finished with eight for Winslow (8-2).
The game went into overtime whe Spruce Mountain’s Grace Ryan hit the only two points of the contest as time expired at the end of the fourth quarter. Kim Seitz sent the game into double overtime with a free throw with one second remaining.
Alex Bessey had 14 points to lead Spruce Mountain (2-7) while Rylee Moore finished with 10 points.
Boys’ basketball
Lisbon 40, Mountain Valley 39
LISBON — Lucas Francis scored the game-winning free throw to lift Lisbon to a 40-39 triumph over Mountain Valley. Valley in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Falcons (1-9) tied the game in the fourth quarter, but Francis drew a foul for the Greyhounds (6-5) with just a couple of seconds remaining. He sank his first free throw and the basket held for the win.
Jonah Sautter, Noah Carter and Josh Huston collected nine points each for Lisbon.
Keegan Davis tossed a game-high 15 points for Mountain Valley.
Winthrop 72, Monmouth 58
WINTHROP — Jacob Hickey poured in 25 points to lead Winthrop to a 72-58 victory over Monmouth in a balanced attack in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Ramblers led 39-26 at the half. Anthony Owens recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Winthrop.
Luke Thombs and Hunter Richardson provided the Mustangs with 16 points each.
Telstar 77, St. Dom’s 46
BETHEL — Sophomore forward Jarrett Bean notched a double-double with 20 points and 18 rebounds to lead Telstar to a comfortable 77-46 victory over St. Dom’s in boys’ basketball Friday evening.
The Rebels (3-7) applied pressure throughout and moved ahead with an 18-point margin in the fourth quarter. Tanner Wheeler contributed 15 points for Telstar.
Sam Rines led all scorers with a game-high 28 points, providing more than half of the Saints’ (0-10) scoring.
Edward Little 72, Massabesic 65
BIDDEFORD — Junior guard Jarod Norcross-Plourde was credited with a double-double, 25 points and 12 rebounds to drive Edward Little to a 72-65 victory over Massabesic in boys’ basketball action Friday evening.
Senior forward Tyus Ripley scored a game-high 33 points on 12 field goals and six free throws for the Mustangs (8-1). Erik Gullikson added six field goals and two free throws for 15 points for Massabesic.
The Red Eddies (4-5) handed Massabesic its first loss of the season by making a series of free throws down the stretch.
Vinalhaven 55, Rangeley 42
VINALHAVEN — Lewis Cray threw in a game-high 17 points as the Vinalhaven Vikings defeated the Rangeley Lakers 55-42 in boys’ basketball.
Keon Arey chipped in 13 points in the victory, while Cody Hamilton had 10.
Kyle LaRochelle led the Lakers with 12 points, while Carl Trafton and Ricky Thompson each had eight points.
Dirigo 84, Boothbay 58
BOOTHBAY — Riley Robinson scored 17 of his game-high 27 points in the first half, leading undefeated Dirigo (11-0) to an 84-58 victory over Boothbay (8-3) in a boys’ basketball game Friday.
By the second half, the Cougars led 47-30 and erupted with another 37 points in the second half.
Gavin Arsenault scored 11 ponts and Gavin Hebert added 13. Clay Swett helped out with his 12 points.
For the Seahawks, Abel Bryer scored the team-16 points and Kyle Ames added 13.
Women’s basketball
UNF 61, Johnson State 54
FARMINGTON — Meghan Smith powered the University of Maine at Farmington to a 61-54 victory over Johnson State College with a double-double, 19 points and 10 rebounds in NAC women’s basketball action Friday afternoon.
Smith shot 6-of-10 from the field and 7-of-12 from the foul line for the Beavers (5-5). Kelly Pomerleau of Turner had a solid outing with 14 points, four rebounds and four assists.
