AUBURN — In preparation for the upcoming budget season, the city and the School Department are focusing on connecting with residents by launching a series of meetings called Neighborhood Conversations.
According to a written statement from the city, these meetings are meant to engage the diverse viewpoints of residents and allow them to learn about educational initiatives and neighborhood activities specific to each area of the community, and connect, ask questions, share ideas and voice concerns.
Beginning the third week of January and ending the second week of February, this series of four meetings will be held at four locations around the city — at least one in each ward and connected to the activities of each of our neighborhood elementary schools.
The public is encouraged to attend.
All meetings will begin at 6 p.m. as follows:
Thursday, Jan. 21, for Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4, parents of children from Park Avenue Elementary School, Edward Little High School, Washburn Elementary School and all surrounding neighborhoods. The meeting will be held in the band room at the high school.
Thursday, Jan. 28, Ward 1, parents of children from East Auburn Community School, Washburn Elementary School and all surrounding neighborhoods. The meeting will be held in the multipurpose room at East Auburn Community School.
Thursday, Feb. 4, for Wards 4 and 5, parents of children from Walton Elementary, Sherwood Heights Elementary and all surrounding neighborhoods. The meeting will be held in the gymnasium at Walton.
Tuesday, Feb. 9, for Wards 2, 3 and 4, parents of children from Fairview Elementary, Auburn Middle School and all surrounding neighborhoods. Meeting will be held in the band room at Auburn Middle School.
