FAIRFIELD — Maine State Police and the State Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the discovery of remains at a Fairfield home on Monday afternoon. The remains appear to be the result of a recent pregnancy.

The remains, which were located in the adjacent garage, were taken to the medical examiner’s office in Augusta for examination.  

The investigation into the remains found continued Tuesday afternoon.
