After reading and re-reading the accounts of Gov. Paul LePages’ comments that led to so much criticism from the noble and honorable press and social media, it quickly occurred to me as to who the real racists and profilers are in this state and country.

There was never any mention as to the race or nationality of the “guys with the name D-Money, Smoothie, Shifty …” Someone just assumed that names such as those must belong to a certain class, race or nationality. Other people followed suit and joined in the race-baiting.

Those people who took a comment by the governor which, by the way, nobody reacted to that evening, and found a way to spin it in their favor in an attempt to discredit him — they are the real racists.

I don’t even have to imagine which political ideology those racist journalists and bloggers are enamored with. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson would be proud of them, for sure.

Martin Luther King Jr. would be ashamed.
