LEWISTON — The cause of death of a Bates College student who was found unresponsive in his dorm room Sunday morning wasn’t released on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for the state of Maine Chief Medical Examiner said Tuesday that more studies were needed to determine the cause and manner of death of Bates senior James Jhun.

Jhun was found unresponsive in his dorm room and later pronounced dead at a local hospital, a college spokesman said.

Local police said Jhun had a history of “prior medical conditions.”

According to Jhun’s LinkedIn page, he held dual citizenship in the United States and South Korea.
