LEWISTON — Parents of Lewiston public school students and community members are invited to a free spaghetti supper at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at The Green Ladle, Lewiston Regional Technical Center, 156 East Ave.
The meal is free. It’ll be open to 200 people who get tickets from Lewiston schools or the Superintendent’s Office.
“Two hundred people is about the capacity of The Green Ladle,” Superintendent Bill Webster said. “We’ve never done this before.”
The event is to get feedback on possible goals for Lewiston schools.
“I’d like to see more involvement by parents and community members; I’d like more conversations to happen, which is why we’re having a spaghetti supper,” said Linda Scott, chairwoman of the School Committee.
The spaghetti supper is Webster’s idea, Scott said.
“It’s a fantastic idea,” she said. “It promotes open communication with the community. They’ll get to discuss, comment and look at our goals and missions for school department.”
And eat.
The dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., and the meeting will follow. Food will be prepared by Green Ladle chefs and students.
Servers will be School Committee members. Scott hopes that by serving food, it will help introduce School Committee members to parents and others in the community.
