KINGFIELD — As part of its bicentennial celebration, Kingfield will host a Winter Carnival on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 22 and 23.

The weekend kicks off with a parade through town at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, followed by a bonfire and sliding party on Little Baker Hill at the Sled Shed. A warm-up room will be available as well as hot chocolate and hot dogs.

A scavenger hunt will span both days. The list of items can be picked up after 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at the Herbert Hotel, Tranten’s Market, CSM Real Estate as well as online on the town’s Facebook page. All items must be turned in by 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Webster Hall.

Saturday events will continue beginning at 1 p.m. with a skating party at the town park. All age groups are welcome. Lots of activities are being planned, such as turkey bowling and tug-of-war. Prizes will be awarded.

The Winter Carnival dance will round out the weekend from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Webster Hall.
