Home improvement retailer The Home Depot announced Wednesday it is hiring 450 workers in Maine for permanent part-time and seasonal jobs this spring as part of a nationwide plan to hire 80,000. Spring is the retailer’s busiest selling season.
The announcement mentioned the need to fill positions for “sales and cashiers to operations and online order fulfillment.” Home Depot cashiers in Maine are paid an average of about $10 an hour, according to glassdoor.com.

The retailer has Maine stores in Auburn, Augusta, Bangor, Biddeford, Ellsworth, North Windham, Portland, Rockland, South Portland, Topsham and Waterville.
