Gov. Paul LePage vetoed LD 484, “An Act Regarding the Confidentiality of Railroad Carrier Cargo,” on June 10, 2015. Two days later that veto was overridden in the House by a vote of 146-1 and, in the Senate, 31-4.

In the House, all legislators in western and central Maine, with the exception of Rep. Paul Gilbert, D-Jay, who was absent, voted for the override. The sole representative voting against the override was Sheldon Mark Hanington, R-Lincoln.

In the Senate, Republicans Eric Brakey of Androscoggin County, Peter Edgecomb and Michael Willette of Aroostook County, and Earle McCormick of Kennebec County voted against the override. All other legislators voted in favor, passing the bill into law.
