LEWISTON — The Lewiston Democratic City Committee will caucus at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Lewiston High School, 156 East Ave.

Registration will start at noon.

Democrats will caucus to declare their presidential preference and elect delegates to the Maine Democratic Convention in May.

To participate in the caucus, people must be registered Democrats. Those currently registered in different parties must enroll in the Democratic Party by Friday, Feb. 19.

Unenrolled voters may register as Democrats on the day of the caucus.

However, according to caucus convenor Richard Grandmaison, “due to the expected crowd, we encourage you to register with the city clerk by Feb. 26 to speed up the caucus registration process.”

To request an absentee ballot, go to www.mainedems.org/caucusabsentee. Those ballots must be returned by 5 p.m. March 2.
