WARREN — The Maine Department of Corrections reported late Thursday that a prisoner died at the Maine State Prison earlier in the day.
Donald Riley, 67, died at about 2:15 p.m., according to a news release.
The attorney general’s office and the medical examiner were reviewing the death, in accordance with department policy, according to the release. The cause or manner of death was not given.
Riley had served about one and a quarter year of a 9½-year sentence for gross sexual assault. He was concurrently serving a two-year sentence for burglary.
