AUBURN — Saint Dominic Academy is set to hire two new principals for the school’s Auburn and Lewiston campuses before the start of the next school year.

Donald Bilodeau, principal of the Lewiston campus for pre-K through sixth grade students, will retire as a full-time administrator at the end of this school year. He is expected to remain at the school in a part-time capacity.

“When we were fortunate enough to get Mr. Bilodeau on board, he said he could give us five years. Well, that was six years ago,” academy President Donald Fournier said in a written statement.

“His dedication to strengthening the academy and preserving the Catholic identity of the school is well-known throughout our community. We are thrilled he will still contribute to the mission of the school on a part-time basis,” Fournier said.

Joline Girouard, principal of the Auburn campus for grades 7 through 12, will assume a new position at the academy focused on implementing the school’s new strategic plan, and identifying opportunities to improve student experience, according to Fournier’s statement.

“Mrs. Girouard has spent her entire professional career ensuring that the students at our school become well-rounded, value-centered individuals,” Fournier said. “In her new position, she will be able to oversee the academy’s efforts to enhance our current curriculum and student life while also helping to assess possible avenues we should pursue to grow as an institution.”

Bilodeau and Girouard each assumed their current roles as principals in August of 2014 when St. Dom’s adopted a president/principal model of school administration.

A national search will begin immediately to fill the vacancies.
