1927 – 2016
LEWISTON —
, 88, of Lewiston, passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, at d’Youville Pavilion with his family by his side. Prior to his illness, he resided at the Oak Park apartment complex in Lewiston.
He was born June 21, 1927, in Lewiston to Alphege and Marie (Michaud). He worked in local shoe shops and met the love of his life, Camilla, at Clark Shoe. They were married at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last August.
Bert was a loving and devoted family man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in his younger years. He used to love getting together with family to play cards on Saturday nights and many weekends were spent at Tricky Pond camping with friends and relatives.
Bert is survived by his wife, Cookie, whom he married on Aug. 19, 1950; his son, Paul Beauchesne and his wife, Debbra, of Lewiston; two grandsons: Eric Beauchesne and his wife, Cyndi, of Lewiston, and Barry Beauchesne and his wife, Kristine, of Greene; four great-grandchildren, Lily and Belle Beauchesne of Lewiston, and Chloe and Isaac Beauchesne of Greene; a brother, Willy Beauchesne; a sister, Doris Biron; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine Beauchesne.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Roland, Richard, Donald; and both parents.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at d’Youville Pavilion, both on the first-floor rehab center and on the fourth-floor nursing care facilities. Everyone was so kind and caring. Bert was well taken care of. A special thank-you also goes out to all the many support staff at the Androscoggin Hospice. Although he was only in their services for a brief period, many people became involved in his care and offered support services to his family.
