BETHEL – The Western Mountains Senior College will hold its Brown Bag Lunch program from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Bethel Inn Library.

There will be updates about Bethel’s Age-Friendly Community Project.

“This discussion format will provide another opportunity for participants to listen to a host of ideas of how we can make the Bethel community more livable for its senior population,” volunteer Nancy Davis said in a news release. “There will be highlights from the survey administered last fall, and more importantly, some exploration of how that data might be translated into community improvements.”

The Age-Friendly Community Project is administered by the World Health Organization.

Davis said the Brown Bag series was created to make the college “responsive to a new generation” and to “reach out to a wider community.”

“The Western Mountains Senior College primarily serves its member population of (people) over 50 years old, but also has developed a rich tradition of reaching out to the wider community with free sessions to the public,” Davis said.
