LEWISTON — A car being driven down College Street early Sunday morning struck two parked cars and flipped over, police said.

Curtis DeVaul, 35, of New Gloucester was driving toward Lewiston when he veered to the right and struck two parked cars before 2 a.m., in the area of 892 College St., according to Lewiston Police Sgt. Danny Lachance.

The impact caused DeVaul’s 2011 red Toyota to roll over onto its hood. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The parked cars, a 2003 red Dodge owned by Jeremy Brown, 37, of Lewiston and a 2006 silver Mercury owned by John Wyman, 63, of Auburn were also towed from the scene, Lachance said.

DeVaul was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by United Ambulance, “just to be checked out,” Lachance said, but with no major injuries.

“We believe alcohol was involved,” Lachance added, “and there could be pending charges.”
