LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce will host the next workshop in its LA LAW series: Trademarks — An Introduction to Intellectual Property Protection and Risk Management.
The workshop will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the chamber’s conference room at 415 Lisbon St.
The program, presented by attorneys Stacy Stitham and Kevin Haley of Brann and Isaacson, will provide a brief survey of the types of intellectual property protection for business assets, as well as offer an introduction to best practices in managing risk and exposure from intellectual property claims.
Stitham represents business clients in civil and commercial litigation in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies. She has litigated patent, trademark, trade dress, copyright, and corporate cases in courts from Maine to California, before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and in the International Trade Commission on behalf of the firm’s retail clients.
Haley represents clients in trademark and copyright matters, privacy and data security counseling, commercial transactions, and trade regulation. He advises clients on trademark and copyright issues, including strategies for identifying and protecting intellectual property as well as dealing with claims of infringement.
The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce will host the Legal Advisory Workshop Series through June. All workshops will be held in the LA Metro chamber conference room and cost $25 for members, $50 for nonmembers.
