1932 – 2016

LEWISTON — Jeannine T. Daigneault, 83, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 28, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on June 6, 1932, in Lewiston, to parents Arthur and Rose (Turcotte) Gilbert.

Jeannine attended Lewiston schools.

She was married on Sept. 6, 1954, to the love of her life, Normand Daigneault at Holy Cross Church.

She retired from Bates Manufacturing Co. after 35 years of dedicated service.

Jeannine was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family, camping with her sister, Julie and husband, Ray Ouellette. She enjoyed playing cards and was an excellent cook. She especially enjoyed cooking for the holidays.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Daigneault) Belanger and her husband, George, of Lewiston, James Daigneault and his wife, Diane, of Lewiston, Lizabeth (Daigneault) Shufeldt and her husband, James, of Harpswell, and Gregory Daigneault of Lewiston. She is also survived by her sister, Juliette Ouellette and her husband, Raymond, of Lewiston; brother, Bertrand Gilbert of Florida; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Gilbert of Lewiston. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren that were her world, Jamie-Lyn Judd, Michael Belanger, Jeffrey Belanger and his wife, Molly, Tyler Morin, Jon Paradis and his wife, Crystal, Jared and Jordan Shufeldt, and Jenna Daigneault; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews that were very special to her.

She is predeceased by her husband, Normand on Sept. 7,1988; her parents; siblings, Arthur Gilbert Jr., Liane (Gilbert) Burpee and husband, Donald, and Laurier Gilbert.
