WILTON — The Maine Mental Health Counseling Association will hold a workshop on Maine’s newly mandated reporting laws.

Titled The New Mandated Reporting Law: Ethical and Legal Obligations, it will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 18, at the Calzolaio Pasta Co., 384 Main St., Wilton.

This four-hour training will include an overview of Maine’s new mandated reporting laws, focusing on the pertinent changes that occurred; a discussion panel including legal, departmental and legislative speakers; and a follow-up discussion about ethical and legal obligations for counselors, and methods of informing clients of the changes.

Coffee and tea will be provided in the morning. Participants are encouraged to enjoy lunch at Calzolaio Pasta Co. following the training. 

Cost for the workshop is $30 for MEMHCA members; $70 for nonmembers (includes one-year membership;) $25 for student members; $35 for student nonmembers (includes one-year membership.)
