TURNER — A three-vehicle crash at Routes 4 and 219 in North Turner sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries Monday morning, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash at 9:35 a.m. occurred when a 1993 Toyota pickup truck owned and operated by Matthew Brady, 32, of Lynchburg, Va., traveling east on Route 219, failed to stop at the stop sign and flashing red light at the intersection with Route 4, according to a news release from the office.
The truck collided with a 2002 Volvo owned and operated by Alexis Wyman-Labelle, 19, of Farmington. The impact caused Wyman-Labelle’s vehicle to collide with a 2002 Jeep Liberty operated by Daniel Brett, 22, of Livermore, the statement said.
Brady was transported by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Wyman-Labelle had to be extricated from her vehicle by Turner Fire Department and was transported by LifeFlight to Central Maine Medical Center. Brett was not injured and was able to drive from the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Turner Fire and Rescue was assisted by Buckfield Rescue.
Brady’s and Wyman-Labelle’s vehicles were considered demolished and towed from the scene. Brady was cited on a charge of driving to endanger.
The crash is being investigated by Deputy Craig MacMillan of the Sheriff’s Office.
