LEWISTON — Paintings by Irene Duplissis and photographs by Scott Ainsworth are on display throughout March at the Central Maine Medical Center Woman’s Hospital Association Rotating Art Gallery.
The works are in the main lobby hallway near the 60 High St. entrance.
Duplissis has been painting professionally for many years. She has devoted much time to teaching art locally, participating in workshops and developing her own talent. Her work, which frequently depicts the character of New England, can be seen at her gallery in Auburn, as well as in private collections throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Ainsworth, who grew up in Vermont, served in the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Storm and was later assigned to military bases in Germany and Texas. After his military service, he earned an associate degree in automotive technology from Vermont Technical College. He married in 1999 and he and his wife moved to Monmouth in 2008.
“My photographic addiction really began on our honeymoon in 1999 when we toured the coast of Maine and discovered the great eastern seacoast. From there it’s been nonstop shooting of everything from lighthouses on the coast to what northern New England offers on a daily basis,” said Ainsworth.
His work can be seen at www.scottainsworthphotography.com.
The artwork on display may be purchased through the WHA Gift Shop. A percentage of sales proceeds benefit CMMC.
