NORWAY — Voters will cast ballots for seven officers at the June 14 annual town elections.

Nomination papers will be available at Town Clerk Shirley Boyce’s office beginning Monday, March 21. The papers must have a minimum of 25 signatures of registered voters and be returned by May 2.

Boyce said prospective candidates should get more than 25, but no more than 100 valid signatures to ensure they have enough.

The slate will contain two candidates for selectmen, two for the SAD 17 board of directors and three for the Norway Memorial Library board of trustees.

Selectman Michael Twitchell has announced he will not seek a third term. Instead, the 56-year-old Democrat is looking to unseat Rep. Tom Winsor, a Republican, for the House District 71 seat. The district includes Norway, Waterford, West Paris and Sweden.

Selectman Bruce Cook confirmed he is seeking a third term. He was first elected in 2007 and re-elected in 2013.

Longtime SAD 17 Director Donald Ware is seeking another three-year term. He filled an unexpired term in 2004 and has served since.

A second seat was left vacant when Don Gouin, 85, died Jan. 13. He had served since 1986. The term is for one year.

The terms of three Norway Memorial Library trustees expire this year: Thomas H. Curtis, David E. Wilson and Doris Ray.
