PARIS — U.S. Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, will convene a roundtable on opioid and heroin addiction Monday, March 28, at the Town Office on Main Street.

It will take place from 1 to 2:15 p.m.

The roundtable, which will be the fourth convened in Maine by King, will bring together family members of those who are struggling with addiction, who are in recovery or who lost the battle to the disease of addiction, along with local law enforcement officials and health care providers. It will specifically focus on the challenges faced by family members in providing care and examine how the opioid and heroin epidemic is affecting Western Maine.

Earlier in the day, King will participate in a forum in Bridgton with conservation and sportsmen organizations to highlight how climate change is affecting Maine’s recreational economy, especially ice-fishing.

That forum will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Maine Lakes Science Center, 51 Willett Road.
