GRAY — Police said a man and a woman were arrested Friday in Auburn and charged with robbing a Rite Aid pharmacy in Gray of narcotics Thursday afternoon.
Shawn M. Small, 19, of New Gloucester, and Sarah L. Leighton, 34, of Gray, were arrested in an apartment on Court Street, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s Department officials said Small walked into the Rite Aid at 3:13 p.m. Thursday, confronted a pharmacy employee and produced a note demanding narcotics. Small said he had a gun, according to police, but no gun was shown.
Police said he fled with an undetermined amount of prescription narcotics and that Leighton drove Small to and from the store.
Bail has been set at $25,000 each.
